If acne is a skin concern for you leading up to your wedding, you're not alone. Creative, beautiful and talented MUA Alicia Lacao suffered with acne since her teens and discovered a natural skincare solution. Here, she expalins how she cleared her skin.

"I run a makeup business as well as juggling being a mum of two. I've suffered with acne since my teens. My skin can get very red, sore and incredibly sensitive at times, which can make me feel upset and depressed. Sometimes it can flare up so badly I don’t want to leave the house! Triggers for my acne are usually hormonal or stress so it’s usually totally out of my control, which for me is the hard part. I’ve tried many different skincare products over the years to try and treat my skin and have always used quite heavy make-up to cover it, but I've recently realised that by doing this, I'm just making it worse in the long run. I used to look for strong medicated products to treat my acne but my recent research into this has proven that steroid creams and parabens are bad for you in so many ways.Being in the make-up and beauty industry is hard especially if you feel you have to present yourself a certain way and look immaculate with perfectly flawless skin. I’ve realised that caking your face in make-up is not the answer to great skin - you must adopt a healthy skincare routine. Some cleansers have helped but my saviour is Salcura Antiac! I'd highly recommend it.

"SalcuraAntiac range is natural skincare for acne prone skin. I particularly love their Activ Liquid Spray. It’s a fine liquid that is sprayed onto the skin, then with a cotton wool pad you wipe the dirt off and what comes off on the pad is unreal! The formula sinks deep into the skin, cleansing deeper than any cream, gel or wash ever would be able to.I was impressed by the amount of vitamins, minerals and natural ingredients found in Antiac, which feed the skin from the inside out, allowing it to gain strength. It made a huge difference on my skin within days, I was amazed. I wasn’t expecting natural skincare to actually work. For anyone out there with acne and super sensitive skin you should give it a go. It won’t strip the skin or dry it out further. I would never go back to medicated brands now, ever.

"I see so many young girls masking their face in make-up to try and cover their acne. If I have a young client in the same situation, I now explain that by caking your face in make-up every day will not solve the problem long-term, it will leave you with more congested skin, which causes more acne. Acne prone skin needs nutrients to heal not chemicals. I think there needs to be more awareness out there supporting and promoting natural skincare for acne sufferers that do not contain harsh chemicals and steroids."
