We opted for a red velvet and chocolate orange tiered cake, which was decorated with Bannockburn-tartan icing and a thistle on top. We already knew of Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel & Country Club and were impressed with the building and gardens when we first visited. When planning the wedding, we wanted to tie the knot in Derby and use local suppliers. We wanted the whole family together on the day, but Covid-19 meant that we couldn’t have the big wedding we started planning in 2018 – we’re hoping to get everyone together in the future to celebrate. We placed Scottish treats on a table for guests to e njoy, including Irn-Bru, Tunnocks Teacakes and Caramel Wafers. Our flowers reflected our tartan colour scheme perfectly. REAL WEDDINGS 27
