August/September 2022

Hello lovely readers and welcome back to another issue of Your East Midlands Wedding.

We’ve worked hard this issue to gather some of the most talented suppliers to offer tips and tricks to create memorable weddings. Expect to find plenty of big-day inspiration on each page, from stunning venue styling ideas to different entertainment options and showstopping dresses.

Make sure to flick to our real wedding features and read the heartwarming love stories from local couples. Learn what made their day stand out and all the lovely details plus memorable moments. I can’t believe we’re already more than halfway through the year; where has the time gone? Summer weddings are always stunning and allow couples to get creative to bring the outdoor areas to life with beautiful ceremony and reception spaces, snug areas, garden games and al fresco dining options.

We all know how unpredictable the weather can be in the UK. So if you’re opting for an al fresco event, make sure you have a wet-weather backup option such as a tipi, marquee or an indoor space available – you can never be too prepared!

We’re expecting to see many Bridgerton-inspired weddings this summer after the popular show released season two and the nation fell in love with Kate and Anthony. Expect to see plenty of lace, ruffles, gloves, capes and delicate blues – it’s going to be oh-so glamorous. Neutrals and earthy tones are also trending at the moment, with the main focus on nature with foliage, driftwood and different textures being used.

This year, couples are focusing on sustainable weddings and are thinking outside of the box to reduce their impact on the environment, which can be done in multiple ways. Why not opt for repurposed jewellery or conflict-free pieces with sustainable diamonds? Or use seed paper or recycled paper for stationery and reuse floral arrangements using seasonal blooms throughout the day.

That’s all from me; now sit back, relax and celebrate anything and everything wedding.

Happy planning!

Warren Farmhouse Weddings & Events

Set in two acres, Warren Farmhouse Weddings & Events is an outdoor venue located on the grounds of Warren Farm.

The property features many photographic opportunities, such as the picturesque pond and the ancient oak tree that houses the famous double rope swing.

The venue doesn’t have a ceremony licence, but the in-house celebrant can host outdoor blessings on the maintained lawns, with the stunning 600-year-old farmhouse as a backdrop. It’s also the perfect space for reception drinks and wedding receptions with 150 people. Alternatively, couples can tie the knot in front of the pond, the oak tree or the marquee. Lovebirds can continue the celebrations inside the marquee, which features exposed-wooden poles, a reclaimed-wooden bar, hessian flooring and a dancefloor. Thousands of fairylights line the roof alongside the three chandeliers that add a touch of glamour to the space.

Couples can choose whether they want limewash banqueting chairs with round tables or long rustic-styled tables with matching benches – they can even pick both to keep all generations happy.

There’s plenty of room around the marquee for oversized games, bouncy castles or seating areas using bales of hay. Couples also have the option for their wedding party to stay overnight in the luxury bell tents.

When nearlyweds book the venue, a wedding planner is provided at no extra charge to help pairs throughout their planning journey. The experienced team has worked with a wide range of trusted suppliers and can help recommend companies if needed.
