The Barns at Hunsbury Hill

Situated in 13 acres of land, The Barns at Hunsbury Hill is located within woodlands and traditional English-styled gardens. Couples are surrounded by beautiful buildings, which are full of historical features such as the old farmhouse and a variety of barns – making the venue a truly hidden gem. The venue has a spectacular octagonal grassed courtyard which takes centre stage with the farmhouse, two barns, the larger High Barn and the smaller more intimate Low Barn, animal sheds and a bar area.

The premises has been lovingly restored to embrace the history of the building and features beautifully exposed original stonework and wooden beams, which adds to the intimate rustic charm – which can be enhanced by the couple’s own choice of colours and décor.

Ceremonies take place in the restored High Barn with exposed stonework and wooden beams which can hold 85 guests. This space will then get transformed into an evening reception for 180 loved ones.

When tying the knot here the venue provides a food taster evening as part of the wedding package.

We caught up with Karen Faulkner at Stand Out Ceremonies to learn more about the roles of a celebrant and why they are so important. She says, "A humanist celebrant conducts your non-religious wedding ceremony for you instead of a registrar. Rather than reading out a fixed script that's been heard thousands of times before, I write a bespoke ceremony that's meaningful to you. I become part of your wedding team, working togetherto create a ceremony as fabulous as the rest of your day! As well as traditional ceremony elements, we include special features that make the ceremony super memorable.
