Hello lovely readers and welcome to another issue of Your East Midlands Wedding. Firstly, I want to say congratulations on your engagement! In this magazine, you’ll find plenty of top tips, advice and wedding inspiration to make the planning experience more straightforward – we know how overwhelming this process can be without any guidance.
It’s no secret summer is a time of year perfect for weddings with colourful seasonal flowers and more daylight for those all-important photos. Al fresco ceremonies and receptions are popular this time of year because more outdoor spaces can be utilised – just picture your guests playing lawn games or having cocktails while soaking up the sun and enjoying clear skies!

Dronfield Hall Barn
Nestled in Derbyshire, Dronfield Hall Barn was lovingly restored in 2016 to offer an intimate atmosphere for weddings and has recently been awarded the Best Wedding Ceremony Venue in the East Midlands by LUXlife 2021 Global Wedding Awards.
When couples travel down the stunning driveway, they’re welcomed by the beautiful building and immaculate surroundings. There’s a large sunny courtyard to the rear which has plenty of seating for guests to relax and take in the views – the beautiful lawn is perfect for picnics, lawn games and relaxing. The Medieval walled garden, with aromatic herbs and flowers, creates the perfect backdrop to wedding photography. There’s numerous secret doorways, stocks, and a drystone wall love seat for incredible shots. These areas are kept immaculate by volunteers who look after the wealth of wildflowers and plants.
Full of history and rustic charm, the barn also boasts contemporary areas including a bar, rest facilities and the courtyard room, which can be used for different purposes such as a play area, mini-cinema, photo room or chill-out zone.
Wedding ceremonies occur in The Gallery with 96 guests and is complete with 15th-century beams and natural lighting – this space can be transformed for a reception with 66 people in the evening. Or why not opt for The Servery, a bright room leading to the outside courtyard that can hold 36 people?
