April/May 2022

Hello lovely readers, and welcome to another issue of Your East Midlands Wedding. As the weather warms up and the daffodils start peeping through, it’s time to welcome spring with open arms. We’re one step closer to summer, and although I’m dreaming of those beach days soaking up the sun, spring is such a special time of year. I love being in nature surrounded by blooming flowers and as a huge animal lover, I’m so excited for adorable animals to be born!

The time of year is perfect for exchanging vows, and we can begin utilizing outdoor spaces for the “I dos”, drinks receptions, garden games, chill out areas and more.

As we get closer to July, I can’t help but get even more excited for my colleague Melissa to tie the knot to the lovely Dave. As a bridesmaid, I’ve loved supporting my close friend and helping her prepare for such an important day – I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle! I’ve found my perfect attire, a sage green cold-shoulder dress, and all I need now is to find those perfect finishing touches.

We’ve worked hard this issue to provide you with plenty of inspiration, top tips, dreamworthy gowns, picture-perfect venues and more. It doesn’t matter if you’re at the start of your wedding journey or looking for those last-minute touches – we’ve got you covered.

That’s all from me; now sit back, relax and celebrate anything and everything wedding.

Happy planning!

The Renaissance at Kelham Hall

Set in 42 acres of picturesque gardens and manicured lawns, The Renaissance at Kelham Hall offers an elegant backdrop to weddings. The grade I listed building has just relaunched with new owners and a management team who has restored the building to its former glory. The highly skilled staff have decades of experience in launching brands and opening high value, established venues.

From the most lavish of celebrations to more intimate events, the 19th-century mansion offers endless opportunities for all types of events. Say “I do” in The Lady Chapel with 70 loved ones. The space is simply stunning, with stained-glass windows and arched ceilings that provide fantastic acoustics. The location is where the Manners-Sutton family used to worship, and it offers a church-like setting for non-religious ceremonies. Or why not opt for the Music Hall with 100 nearest and dearest? Beautiful high ceilings with a central fireplace will create the perfect backdrop for the vows, and the hand-painted ceiling artwork is sure to wow guests. Alternatively, the Carriage Court can host 200 guests for whimsically services and features stunning high ceilings plus original archways.

The Great Hall is perfect for larger weddings and can accommodate 650 people. The hall is the second largest dome in England, built by Anglican monks and provides a real wow factor.

Continue the celebrations in the Dinning room with 70 people or The Great Hall with 500 for receptions. Another option is the Carriage Court for 150 guests who will love the high-vaulted ceilings, original windows and stone archways. Lastly, the newly-renovated courtyard marquee can accommodate 450 loved ones and provides a stunning neutral backdrop to receptions. Guests can book the private lodge on-site to stay the night after the celebrations.

A knowledgeable and dedicated team of event professionals will leave nothing to chance and guide couples through every planning milestone to provide guests with an unforgettable experience. Couples will be sure to have memorable weddings with help from the professional wedding planner and catering team, who offer delicious meals crafted from locally sourced ingredients. The team can accommodate various tastes, from canapés and wedding breakfasts to casual buffets and hog roasts. If lovebirds have a preferred caterer in mind, the staff can provide private event hire with access for the catering team to use the kitchens.
