Hello lovely readers and welcome to another issue of Your East Midlands Wedding. Autumn is such a beautiful time of year to exchange vows and Christmas is just around the corner – sorry, I couldn’t help but slip that in there!
As we look back on the last 18 months, it has been an emotional roller coastal for us all with the lockdowns, restrictions and uncertainties. But I’ve never been prouder of the wedding industry who has worked hard to support couples and help them plan the perfect day while meeting any guidelines in place.
With the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, whoops and cheers, there’s a fantastic buzz in the world of weddings and I’m over-the-moon to see so many special events taking place with lots of celebrations – I’ve missed seeing everyone up on the dancefloor dancing the night away!
Planning a wedding is such an exciting experience and if I could share one piece of advice, it would be to get organised from the get-go. Make a list of everything that’s important to you both and highlight any priorities. It’s always good to have an idea of what you want on the big day, but I recommend not just focusing on one style and ruling everything else out. Start the planning process with an open mind and discover new elements and exciting ideas that could work well for your day.
If you’re on the hunt for local suppliers, you’re in luck because we’ve searched high and low to find trustworthy companies from all around the East Midlands. In this wonderful issue, you’ll find stellar advice, top tips and inspiration to help you plan the perfect day. From beauty experts, stunning venues, florists, cake bakers and more – we’ve got you covered!

Best Western Premier Yew Lodge
Situated at the heart of Kegworth village, the Best Western Premier Yew Lodge Hotel is a traditional venue with a welcoming atmosphere. Located on a rural street in Packington Hill, the property is only half a mile from the motorway – perfect for guests travelling in.
Two rooms can host civil ceremonies; the most popular area is the Mulberry Suite, which can host 90 guests and features floor-to-ceiling windows. Or why not exchange vows in the Forest Suite, a stylish space with great lighting that can accommodate 150 guests for ceremonies. This location can be transformed into a reception space and features a newly designed bar and lounge area (the Ebony) that creates a modern yet classical space for celebration drinks. The dining area is a flexible space with three sections allowing numbers to be increased or decreased as desired. The outdoor terrace has also been recently refurbished and offers a comfortable outdoor space.
The Ash Suite and Mulberry Suite are interconnecting and are perfect for smaller celebrations with 90 people for wedding breakfasts and 150 for evening receptions. The two locations provide perfect views and a quite space for guests catching up. There are several terraces around the venue for guests to enjoy together, and there’s a garden that’s ideal for wedding photography.
