October/November 2022

Hello lovely readers and welcome to another issue of Your East Midlands Wedding. If you’re new here, you’ve come to the right place as we cover everything from bridal boutiques, venues, make-up artists, photographers, florists and more! You’ll discover the latest trends, talented experts and plenty of showstopping inspiration.

For those at the end of their planning journey, we have top tips and advice to ensure your day runs smoothly as well as last-minute touches to create wow-factor events.

Weddings are such joyful occasions, and there’s nothing more special than marrying your soulmate. For those that have been reading the last few issues, you’ll know that my best friend tied the knot this summer and what an incredible day it was. As a bridesmaid, it has been such a special experience helping a dear friend plan such an important event. Watching everything come together on the day was very emotional. I’ll never forget that moment when I watched the bride make her grand entrance – I had to fight back the tears as I couldn’t ruin my make-up! The ceremony was beautiful, with many heartwarming words shared. Overall, we had a fantastic day with plenty of pampering, memorable moments, excellent food and great entertainment. I spent the entire evening living it up on the dancefloor – you should see the videos!

Planning a wedding might seem like a scary or overwhelming experience, but we’re here to guide you through the whole process from the moment you get engaged to the honeymoon. That’s all from me; now sit back, relax and celebrate anything and everything wedding.

Happy planning!

Kilworth House

Set in 38 acres of rolling parkland, Kilworth House is an elegant venue located in the heart of rural Leicestershire. With breathtaking views, expansive grounds, fine dining, luxurious accommodation and an outdoor theatre, what’s not to love about this property? The hotel lies at the end of an inviting tree-lined approach that leads guests through the tranquil grounds to the well-maintained lawns and south-facing façade. Guests will love exploring the parklands and woodland areas, which create gorgeous backdrops to images.

Exchange vows with 130 guests in the fully-restored Victorian Orangery, which features glorious rural views and vibrant natural lighting. After the vows, couples can enjoy drinks receptions on the terrace before returning to the Orangery for wedding breakfasts. Alternatively, The Wordsworth Room features a domed ceiling with glittering chandeliers and can accommodate 40 people for the vows. Next door, pairs can use the Library Restaurant for showstopping wedding breakfasts. With a cosy setting, views over the Knot Garden, fairytale bookcases and a Victorian fire place, what location could be better?

For more intimate weddings, the Shakespeare Room is perfect for celebrations with 20 loved ones and features ornate décor. The space brings intimacy and grandeur to both wedding ceremonies and wedding breakfasts. After dancing the night away, loved ones can retreat to the stunning bedrooms for a good night’s rest. They can enjoy the sumptuous surroundings in peace as exclusive hire is available from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival to 9.00 am the following morning.

When couples book the venue, they’ll receive a complimentary menu tasting session.

Check out Sawcliffe Manor's new milk bath treatment

Guests at Sawcliffe Manor can now take some much-needed pampering time and feel like royalty, thanks to the addition of a Milk Bath Treatment in the Natural Spa. A giant copper tub filled with cow's milk and calendula offers a wonderful experience that will soothe and moisturise skin. The proteins, fat, vitamins, minerals and lactic acid in the milk soaks into the skin while exfoliating dead skin cells. For those with skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, this treatment is known for relieving any irritation. The addition of the flowers isn't just to look pretty but to provide anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antimicrobial properties to calm redness and ease skin discomfort.
