Papplewick Pumping Station, Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire

Papplewick Pumping Station is an incredibly ornate wedding venue featuring decorated columns, stained-glass windows and highly polished brass work.
Built between 1882 to 1885, this venue was made in a Gothic revival style of architecture and set amongst formally landscaped grounds – a breathtaking example of Victorian engineering.
The venue's grounds feature an ornate cooling pond, a wealth of trees, flowers and varying colours of rhododendrons that give the bride and groom almost endless possibilities for photographs. The engine house porch ensures group photos are perfectly framed and poised. The ceremony takes place on the mezzanine between the historic beam engines that once pumped water out of the ground, making it a very special location for a wedding ceremony with 80 loved ones.
Furthermore, there's a 35m x 14m parterre lawn capable of hosting almost any size of reception marquee couples could hope for with up to 100 guests.
