If you're 25, the chances are you have been to a wedding this year as a recent report has found that it's at this age you attend the most. A study, by One4all Gift Cards has found that 25 year olds have on average four weddings a year to attend, forking out up to average £3,104 to celebrate friend's nuptials each year.

For women, dress, shoes, professional hair and make-up all adds up when it comes to preparing for a wedding, with female guests spending £163 on average, dressing to impress. The average budget for a wedding gift was revealed at £65, with almost two thirds (85%) spending up to £100 on a gift for the happy couple. The research found that 15% of generous gifters spend over £100 whilst the same number confessed to giving no gift at all. A third of those polled (33%) said the cost of a wedding can escalate with 28% claiming that attending a wedding is just too expensive. Almost a fifth of respondents (18%) admitted to having to make sacrifices to afford wedding attendance, with more than 1 in 10 forgoing their annual holiday and 13% even turning down other social occasions in a bid to celebrate nuptials. June, July and August were found to be the most popular months for weddings, while January was found to be the least popular for UK adults.

Aoife Davey, group marketing manager at One4all Gift Cards, commented "Wedding invitations often seem to come in twos or threes and it's interesting to see that it's those aged 25 who receive the most. This research demonstrates just how much time and money celebrating your loved ones nuptials can take, particularly with the majority of celebrations taking place over the summer months. Despite this, it's wonderful to see how many of us are so generous when it comes to gifting the happy couple. It can be tricky to think of original gifts the newlyweds will truly appreciate, particularly when you have a number of weddings in close succession.2

Which is why the One4all Gift Card is the perfect wedding gift allowing the pair to choose a gift they really need or want as they embark on married life together. The One4all Gift Card can be spent in more than 55,000 outlets across the UK and is available to buy from Post Offices nationwide and online at www.one4all.com.
